[Rebirth, Protective Mate, Hidden Power]

Aurora remembers the silver dagger, the mate who wielded it, and the unborn pup she lost. Given a second chance at the Crimson Moon’s guard selection, she lets Blake pledge himself to her sister and chooses Ronan, the quiet warrior who once tried to save her.

Her father has spent years making her look powerless. As a binding ritual exposes the truth, Aurora must decide who deserves her trust—and defend the inheritance everyone else thinks they can claim.

The Alpha Is Chosen By Me

Chapter One

The memory of the silver dagger in my heart was so real I could feel myself trembling.

I was drowning in hatred, ready for death. Then, the pain vanished. I opened my eyes and found myself in the middle of the Crimson Moon's grand hall.

"Aurora." My father, Alistair, patted my shoulder.

Father? He died years ago. Why is he here...

Before I could speak, he whispered, "Weren't you so insistent on choosing that rogue as your guard? Why are you hesitating now?"

Guard?

I was back. Back on the day of the Guard Selection.

I took a deep breath, feeling my wolf pacing restlessly in my chest.

But before I could say a word, a familiar figure stepped out of the crowd.

Blake.

He dropped to one knee in the center of the hall, his eyes locked on my sister, Clara, with a burning obsession.

"Respected Alpha, I must confess," he declared. "The one I truly wish to serve is Princess Clara, not Aurora. Please allow me to be Princess Clara's guard."

Dead silence.

My father's face turned to stone.

Everyone knew Blake was a rogue with tainted blood.

Pack law dictated that a Princess's guard could become her future mate. That was why the spot was strictly reserved for elite pack warriors. Even if we chose an outsider, it would never be a rogue.

The only reason he was even allowed in this hall, among our pack’s elite, was because I had begged for him.

And now, he was publicly humiliating me.

I saw the cold disgust in his eyes and I knew. He was back, too.

"Insolence! Aurora is a Princess of this pack too!" my father growled through gritted teeth. "Who do you think you are to pick and choose?"

A crushing wave of Alpha aura slammed into Blake, trying to force him down.

But Blake held his ground. Veins bulged on his neck, but he refused to bow.

"I know!" he roared. "But Alpha, what did I do wrong? Just because the Princess likes me, am I forced to be bound to her?"

"Princess Aurora is lazy and spoiled! She contributes nothing to the pack! But Princess Clara? She trains until midnight. She studies ancient war strategies. She cares for every single pack member!"

Every word was a dagger.

"Any sane wolf would choose Princess Clara!"

He sounded so righteous.

But I knew the truth. He only said this because he knew Clara was the chosen heir from our past life.

Binding with the heir meant a direct path to power. It was his ticket from a lowly rogue to the future pack's core.

It was all about greed.

"You have a death wish!" my father snapped, his Alpha aura slamming down on Blake again. "A filthy rogue, judging my daughter!"

This time, Blake couldn't take it. Blood dripped from his nose and mouth.

Just as my father raised his hand to finish him, a gentle voice spoke up.

"Father, please stop."

Clara’s cheeks were flushed, her eyes gleaming.

She gazed down at Blake, bit her lip, and said in a voice as sweet as poison,

"I will accept him."
