Absolutely loved this book, I’m 60% of the way through and I look forward to seeing where this story goes.
So well written & love the author notes they help clarify certain things.
If you need to escape life for a bit it’s definitely worth the purchase.

The cursed Alpha deserves more hype

Kael doesnt get enough credit as a male lead. Hes dangerous without being toxic possessive without being controlling and his scenes with Aria have real tenderness underneath the tension. The book is LONG but the enemies-to-lovers arc between two broken people finding each other is exactly my catnip. Already recommended to three friends.

That moonstone pendant scene.

The moment Damon calls Aria selfish for wanting her dead mothers pendant back while handing it to Sera — I had to put my phone down. That level of gaslighting felt too real. The rest of the book is Aria slowly rebuilding and Kael being exactly the kind of quiet support she needs. Its a long read but if you love watching a heroine earn her power back chapter by chapter this is it.

Loved the slow burn between Aria and Kael

Came for the cursed Alpha trope stayed for the slow burn. Kael trapped in wolf form for three years is such a good setup and watching Aria see past the curse to who he really is was genuinely satisfying. A few chapters I skimmed but the emotional beats hit hard when they needed to.

Solid 4 stars

This book does the rejected mate trope right. Aria doesnt forgive easily and Kael respects her boundaries which isnt always the case in this genre. Some grammar issues in the ebook but nothing that ruined the experience. 470+ chapters felt a bit long toward the end but the payoff in the final arc made it worth pushing through.

Worth the length

I wont lie — 472 chapters is a LOT. But the emotional payoff justifies it. Arias journey from pack doormat to someone who knows her worth is told in small realistic steps not one dramatic transformation scene. If you have patience for the middle stretch the final 100 chapters deliver.

Started for the trope stayed for the chemistry

At first I picked this up because I love the enemies-to-lovers and cursed Alpha tropes. But what kept me reading was Aria and Kael. She's been through so much and doesn't just crumble which I really respect. The slow shift from contract to actual feelings felt earned not rushed. Would have liked a bit more worldbuilding on the Shadowmere pack but overall super enjoyable.

Devoured this in a weekend

Couldnt stop reading. The first 20 chapters alone had me hooked — Aria agreeing to bond with her exs worst enemy while still hearing Damon's fake promises in her head. The Shadowmere pack has this eerie beautiful atmosphere that I wish we explored more. Instant download after checkout was nice too got the EPUB right away.

The betrayal arc is chef's kiss

Damon Cross might be one of the most infuriating villains Ive read in a while because hes not cartoonishly evil — hes casually cruel in a way that feels disturbingly realistic. Aria saving him from wolfsbane only for him to cast her aside the moment Sera returns? Devastating. The enemy Alpha Kael is the perfect antidote. This book understands that the best revenge is moving on to someone better.

Better than I expected

Honestly wasnt sure if a 400+ chapter werewolf romance would hold my attention but the pacing surprised me. The opening chapters with Damon's betrayal are brutal — you feel every bit of Aria's pain. Kael is a refreshing Alpha because he doesnt spend the whole book being possessive and toxic. Four stars because some middle chapters drag a little.

Painfully good

This book hurt in the best way. Damon giving Aria's dead mothers pendant to Sera then calling Aria cruel for wanting it back — that moment lives rent free in my head. Kael being the exact opposite was healing to read. Some parts of the middle could be tighter but the emotional core is strong throughout.
