Chapter 1

Sunna’s POV

“Deliver a box of condoms to the top floor of WaveBay Hotel immediately!”

The message flashed on my phone while I was buried in paperwork at the office.

At first, I thought I’d misread it. But the sender’s name froze the blood in my veins—Alpha Simon, my mate, my husband.

As Luna of the Sky Pack, I had always believed I was the only woman who shared his bed. But that message… shattered something inside me.

“Go find out,” my wolf, Diana, growled restlessly inside me. “Now.”

I didn’t even realize I’d grabbed my car keys until I was already outside. The drive to WaveBay Hotel was a blur of flashing traffic lights and the pounding of my heart.

When I reached the top floor, I rang the bell of the only luxury suite.

The door opened—and there he was.

Simon.

“Sunna? What are you doing here?” His eyes widened, guilt flickering across his face before he quickly turned his head.

Following his gaze, I saw her.

A woman lounged on the silk-covered bed, her curves barely hidden beneath a thin black camisole. Her lips were painted crimson, and her golden hair spilled over the pillows like liquid fire.

Caroline.

The Beta family’s darling. Recently promoted captain of Imperial Airlines. The woman Simon had been praising for weeks.

“Oh, Simon, I’m sorry,” Caroline purred, sitting up. “I sent that message to the wrong person.”

Her words were addressed to him, but her blue eyes locked onto mine—sharp, smug, deliberately provoking.

“That lying bitch,” Diana snarled, hackles rising inside me.

I clenched my fists, forcing my voice to stay even. “Simon. What is going on?”

The Sky Pack was one of the strongest in the northern frontlines. Women often threw themselves at Simon, but he’d always brushed them off before. I’d trusted him—trusted us.

But this time felt different. Because Caroline had used his phone.

Simon’s jaw tightened. “I was just… discussing something important with her.”

“Really?” I asked coldly. “Is that why she’s lying on your bed half-dressed? And why she has access to your phone to message me?”

He opened his mouth, then shut it again. The silence spoke louder than any excuse.

Caroline rose from the bed, swaying her hips like a challenge. “You should watch your tone, Luna,” she sneered. “You’re speaking to your Alpha. Seems he’s been far too lenient with you.”

That’s when I noticed the ring gleaming on her finger.

A ruby set in silver—my mother’s ring.

My breath hitched. “That ring— it’s mine!”

Before I could reach for it, Simon grabbed my wrist midair. His grip was iron-hard.

“Enough, Sunna. Stop causing a scene. I gave that ring to Caroline.”

For a heartbeat, I couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe.

The pain in my wrist was nothing compared to the pain that followed his words.

“You… what?” My voice trembled. “You promised you’d give that ring back to me. You swore—”

That ring had been my mother’s. I’d pawned it years ago to help Simon start his company, believing in his dream, in us.

He’d promised to redeem it. To return it to me.

Now, it glinted mockingly on another woman’s hand.

Caroline slipped it off and tossed it at my feet like it was trash.

“Take it, if it means that much to you,” she said, her tone dripping with contempt. “Honestly, I don’t know why Simon even keeps you around. Maybe he pities you?”

She crossed her arms, her smirk widening.

“I can give him business connections, social standing, access to the Imperial Circle. What can you offer him, Sunna? You’re just a powerless stray from a ruined family who got lucky enough to be chosen as Luna.”

“Let me tear her throat out.” Diana’s snarl rumbled in my chest, my claws itching beneath my skin.

“Just one bite. She’ll never mock you again.”

But I held her back.

Because the real pain wasn’t Caroline’s words—it was Simon’s silence.

He didn’t defend me. Not once.

“Simon,” I said quietly, my voice shaking despite myself. “Do you think the same?”

He sighed, looking away. “Sunna… why don’t you go home first? We’ll talk later, okay? I’ll come with you to collect your parents’ ashes when the time comes.”

I crouched down and picked up the ring, wiping it clean with my sleeve. My throat burned.

My parents had been soldiers—heroes of the Helian Empire. They died in the Battle of William Castle three years ago.

That was when Simon found me—broken, grieving, lost. He wiped away my tears and promised me forever. I’d left the army for him. Chosen him. Built his empire beside him.

And now…

Maybe he was just under pressure. Maybe Caroline was an important contact he couldn’t offend. That’s what I told myself. That’s how I justified the knife twisting inside me.

But deep down, the doubt had already started to bloom like poison.

That afternoon, long past the time we’d agreed to meet, Simon still hadn’t come.

When I called, he answered on the second ring.

“Sunna? Sorry. Caroline’s not feeling well. I need to take care of her. You go ahead without me, alright? We’ll talk when you’re home.”

He hung up before I could reply.

My wolf whimpered softly inside me as I drove alone to the Hunterston military zone.

In the Helian Empire, every werewolf knows there’s no higher honor than dying for the pack. My parents’ ashes were finally being returned home, and even the King himself was present to receive me.

“Sunna,” said His Majesty, the Lycan King, Viserys Martinez, as he clasped my hand warmly. “Your parents were heroes of the Empire. I apologize that it took so long to bring them home.”

Tears blurred my vision. I could barely speak. “They wanted a quiet burial in our hometown. Thank you, Your Majesty, for allowing that.”

Viserys studied my face with sharp, unreadable eyes. “I heard you’re now the Luna of the Sky Pack. Where is your Mate? Why is he not here?”

The question struck deeper than any blade.

I forced a smile, but my silence said enough. The king’s expression darkened.

“Your parents wished for you to live happily,” Viserys said, his voice firm. “That wish is now my duty to protect.”

He placed a hand on my shoulder, his gaze glowing faintly golden.

“Tell me, Sunna—has someone hurt you? Because if they have…”

His voice dropped to a dangerous growl.

“…I’ll make sure they regret it for the rest of their lives.”

Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Sunna’s POV

The warmth in Lycan Viserys’s voice thawed something deep within me — something that had been frozen for far too long.

For a fleeting moment, I thought — if only Simon could care for me like this.

The thought startled me. When was the last time Simon had spoken to me with real affection?

Weeks? Months?

I couldn’t even remember.

I drew a steadying breath and bowed slightly. “Thank you, Your Majesty, for your kindness. But I can handle this myself.”

Viserys’s golden eyes studied me, ancient and unreadable. “Still that stubborn soldier from the Empire’s Blade, aren’t you?” he said with a faint smile. “Not some fragile Luna.”

His words pulled a reluctant smile from me. “Old habits die hard.”

“Come,” he said, gently taking my hand. “Your parents are waiting.”

Outside, the flags of the Helian Empire billowed in the wind, the scent of iron and smoke thick in the air. A thousand soldiers stood at attention in the square, their uniforms neat, their eyes solemn.

Beneath the towering flagpole stood a tall man in black armor — Commander Picsis, my former instructor in the Wolf Fang Special Forces, now the leader of the Black Flame Legion.

In his hands rested a carved ebony urn — my parents’ ashes.

Viserys took the urn reverently and placed it in my arms. “The heroes of the Empire have finally returned home,” he said softly.

Then he bowed — and thousands of soldiers followed.

“Salute to the heroes of the Helian Empire!”

The thunder of synchronized movement rolled across the courtyard.

My throat tightened. Tears blurred my vision as I cradled the urn close.

Dad. Mom. I’m bringing you home.

When the ceremony ended, Viserys personally escorted me to the gates of the military district. His tone softened, yet carried the weight of command.

“If you ever need help, come to me. The Empire never abandons the family of its heroes.”

He turned slightly toward Picsis, his lips curving into a knowing smile.

“Or… you can go to Commander Picsis. You two share history — perhaps it would be easier to ask him.”

I dipped my head respectfully. “Thank you, Your Majesty. I’ll remember that.”

Then, clutching the urn tightly, I drove back toward Sky Pack territory.

The moment I stepped into the pack house, raised voices hit me like a slap.

“Simon, you must end things with that woman soon!” Luna Hoyle — Simon’s mother — was speaking sharply, her voice dripping disdain.

“Sunna is not worthy of being the Luna of the Sky Pack. She’s nothing but a decoration. Only someone like Caroline — powerful, graceful, useful — deserves that position.”

“Mother is right!” came a younger, shriller voice. Simon’s sister, Elis.

“She’s a disgrace to us! Caroline comes from a strong Beta bloodline, she’s beautiful, and she brings influence to the pack. And Sunna?” Elis scoffed. “She’s a poor orphan from a fallen family. She’s only here because Simon pitied her. A woman like that is better suited to serve than to lead!”

“Let me out,” Diana snarled in my mind, claws raking at the walls of my control. “Let me rip their tongues out!”

I clenched my fists, forcing myself to stay silent.

My wolf’s fury mirrored my own.

I had treated these two as family — always respectful, always eager to please. I thought patience and kindness could change their hearts.

But no matter how much I gave, they only saw me as dirt under their boots.

Then I heard Simon’s voice — calm, even gentle.

“Sunna hasn’t done anything wrong. We can’t just strip her of her Luna status.”

For a moment, my heart fluttered with fragile hope. But it shattered with his next breath.

Hoyle snorted. “Don’t defend her! Didn’t she go to collect her parents’ ashes? She’s not putting them in my house! Unless she throws them away where they belong!”

“That’s a wonderful idea,” Elis said, clapping her hands. “If she loves her parents so much, she’ll never do it — then she can take her precious ashes and leave! Do this enough, and she’ll finally know her place.”

“These heartless bitches!” Diana roared, her rage pulsing through me. “They dare to insult your parents—our bloodline!”

I bit down hard on my lower lip until I tasted iron.

They had no idea what it took to keep this pack running — what I had sacrificed.

I held their finances together, managed their trade alliances, and led the Sky Group’s most advanced drone project — the same project that kept the Sky Pack at the top of the Empire’s military hierarchy.

And yet… I was still “useless” in their eyes.

But Simon’s next words were the real blade to my chest.

“No,” he said quietly. “That would be too cruel. Without a pack, Sunna would barely survive. But… she truly can’t compare to Caroline.”

He hesitated before continuing, his tone almost casual — as if he were discussing a business merger.

“I’ve already spoken with Caroline. I plan to make her my Mate as well. The Sky Pack will have two Lunas. Caroline will handle the important affairs, and Sunna can take care of the minor ones. I’ll talk to her about it myself.”

The world tilted.

Two Lunas.

Two.

My breath caught in my throat, and for a moment, all I could hear was the blood roaring in my ears.

He had truly betrayed me — body, heart, and soul.

While I had clung to loyalty, he had already divided his love, his promises, his future.

Caroline’s smirk flashed in my memory, the ruby ring gleaming on her finger — my ring — and my vision went red.

The air around me trembled as my wolf stirred, rage clawing to the surface. My claws began to form, my fangs pricking through my gums.

I burst through the door, my voice hoarse with fury and heartbreak.

“Two Lunas!?” I snarled, my eyes glowing amber. “Never!”

The pack house fell silent. I could feel every gaze on me — shock, fear, disdain.

“Simon!” I shouted, my chest heaving, my wolf half-awake beneath my skin. “You’ll make me the laughingstock of every pack in the Empire! Do you think I’ll stand by and accept this humiliation?”

My voice broke, but my pride didn’t.

Diana’s growl rumbled low and dangerous.

“He has no idea what happens when a Luna is betrayed,” she whispered. “He’ll learn soon.”

Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Sunna’s POV

The moment I appeared at the door, the air in the living room froze.

Simon’s expression faltered; Elis’s eyes widened, then narrowed with venom.

“You shameless woman!” she snapped, pointing at me with trembling fingers. “How dare you eavesdrop on our conversation?”

I used to avoid arguing with her—always thinking of Simon, always swallowing my pride for the sake of peace.

But something inside me had changed. My heart no longer trembled for anyone’s comfort.

“This is my home,” I said, my voice low but steady. My wolf stirred beneath my skin, golden light flickering in my eyes. “I didn’t hide. I didn’t eavesdrop. Watch your words.”

Elis blinked, stunned for a heartbeat. Then her face twisted in rage. “Your home? Don’t make me laugh. Simon only let you stay here. Don’t overestimate your worth!”

Hoyle slammed her cane on the floor, her voice shrill and sharp. “You still refuse to leave? You should be grateful Simon hasn’t thrown you out yet! Caroline is a thousand times better than you—and she’s not even complaining! What are you? Nothing but a disgrace to the Sky Pack!”

“Elis,” Hoyle gasped suddenly, clutching her chest, “get Simon to remove her before I lose my sight again! The witch doctor said my emotions must stay calm, or I’ll go blind!”

Simon’s brows furrowed. For a brief second, I thought he might defend me.

But then he looked at me with that same tired impatience I’d seen too many times before.

“Sunna,” he sighed, “just leave for now. We’ll talk later.”

I took a step forward, my pulse quickening. “No. We’ll talk now.”

“Don’t make this difficult for me,” he warned, his tone turning cold.

A bitter laugh broke from my lips. “Difficult for you? Simon, I’ve never made things difficult for you. For three years, I stood by your side, helped you rise from nothing—without complaint, without demanding anything in return! Even today at the hotel, when Caroline humiliated me, you told me to walk away, and I did. For you!”

My voice cracked into a growl as I pointed at Elis. “Your sister—if it weren’t for me—would’ve been rotting in a cell right now! I begged the elders, pulled every favor I had, to protect her!”

Then I turned to Hoyle, trembling with fury. “And you! When your eyes began to fail, when even the healers gave up, who searched all across Hunterston for the witch doctor Marzaha? Who brought him here to save you? I did!”

The heat in my veins burned, my wolf pushing closer to the surface.

“I treated you all as family,” I shouted, my voice raw, eyes glinting gold. “I gave everything—my heart, my loyalty, my life! And this is how you repay me? By turning me into a joke in front of everyone?”

Silence fell. Only my ragged breathing echoed through the vast house.

But instead of shame, Elis laughed—cold and cruel. “Oh, don’t flatter yourself. Simon’s success, our pack’s strength—none of it came from you. He achieved it on his own. You were just… convenient.”

Hoyle shrieked, “Simon! Are you going to let this wolf run wild in my house? Throw her out before I lose my sight again!”

Simon’s jaw clenched. “Sunna, don’t push me.”

My heart clenched, then broke into something harder. “Or what?” I whispered. “You’ll raise a hand against me?”

His silence was the answer.

“I love my mother,” he finally said, voice cold as steel. “If anything happens to her… I won’t forgive you.”

For a moment, all sound vanished. Even my wolf went still.

And then I understood—he’d already chosen.

The man I had built my world around, the Alpha I had trusted with my life, saw me as nothing more than a burden.

The pain didn’t even reach me anymore. Only clarity did.

I straightened, smoothing back my hair, and said to my wolf. “It’s alright, we’re leaving.”

Then I looked at Simon—really looked—and for the first time, I wasn’t begging for his understanding.

“Alright, as you wish,” I said, my voice calm, cold, final. “I’ll leave—with my parents, with what’s mine. Forever.”

I met his gaze, the fire in me burning brighter than ever before. “But before I go, hear me, Simon Duke.”

The air shimmered around me, my wolf’s aura breaking free, fierce and commanding.

“I, Luna Sunna Constance, reject you, Alpha Simon Duke, as my mate. From this moment on, there is nothing between us.”

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Simon's POV

In my heart, Sunna is a good woman. I like her unconditional love for me, her tolerance and obedience to everything. Because of this, even though I feel that as Luna, whether in the Pack or in the company, she is more of a symbol than a practical role, I have never thought of breaking up with her.

But today, she was acting strange. She was like a crazy wolf with a disease, not only openly arguing with me, but even wanting to reject me!

After she said that, the invisible thread connecting us was about to break, but at the critical moment, a mysterious force prevented this disconnection - it was the power of the moon goddess.

In the Heling Empire, the werewolf clan has absolute faith in the moon goddess. All werewolves who become Mates must hold a ceremony, invite the moon goddess to witness, and receive her blessing. Similarly, if they want to break up, they must also obtain the moon goddess's permission.

I am the Alpha, Sunna is the Luna, and the ceremony we need to break up requires a higher specification. It needs to be conducted by the high priest of the Hunterston Grand Priesthood. Only after that can we officially break up.

I was angry. Such a thing with two Lunas would indeed make her subject to some criticism. But as my mother said, Caroline is much better than her and didn't refuse. What right does she have to reject me!? And to make such an extreme move!

My mother was also angry. She said to me excitedly, "Simon, do you see? This is the Mate you chose. Haven't we been good enough to her? We let this useless woman live such a good life, but she doesn't know how to be grateful! How can we let her continue to be the Luna of the Sky Pack!?"

Elis also advised me, "Simon, what right does that woman have to reject you? If you two are going to break up, it should be you rejecting her! You must teach her a lesson and let her know that you are the Alpha, this is your territory, and only you can make major decisions!"

Their words made me even more dissatisfied with Sunna's behavior. I turned around and followed her into the room.

"What are you doing?"

I grabbed her hand as she was packing her clothes.

"I think I made myself clear."

Sunna's tone was cold and indifferent, unlike anything I had ever heard from her, and she didn't even look at me.

"Are you out of your mind? You should feel honored to be Luna alongside Caroline!"

I held her chin with my other hand, making her turn her face towards me. "Look at me, is there anything else you're hiding from me? Are you trying to leave me by pretending like this?"

She smirked at me. "Simon, do you think everyone betrays their Mate like you do? It's a good thing we broke up, isn't it? Now you can be with Caroline, the Luna you like so much."

I furrowed my brows, warning her. "I don't like the way you're talking to me, and you should know that I'm being kind by letting you and Caroline both be Lunas. Now go apologize to my mother and sister, take back what you said, and promise me you won't go crazy again!"

"Hahaha!"

Suddenly, Sunna burst into laughter, sending a chill down my spine.

"Apologize? Simon, why should I apologize!? What have I done wrong that requires an apology? The only person I need to apologize to is myself! I was too naive before, thinking that if I was good to others, they would be good to me. Now I know I was wrong!"

Looking at the crazed look on Sunna's face, my heart inexplicably ached, as if something important was about to be taken from my life.

My grip on her chin loosened subconsciously, and she easily shook me off.

I couldn't help but think back to these years, when I often left things for Sunna to handle, and she did her duty, even though she may not have been the most capable. Perhaps she was just tired - that's what I thought.

"Let's have a child."

I said to her.

Maybe becoming a mother would make Sunna more sensible, and she had always wanted a child. I had always disagreed, but now, by fulfilling her wish, she should know better and stop causing trouble.

To my surprise, Sunna seemed to hear something extremely absurd, looking at me with an exaggerated expression. "A child? Simon, you actually think our problem is not having a child?"

She shook her head repeatedly, suddenly roaring at me. "No, we will not have a child. I will never have a child for you! It's over between us!"

Sunna's behavior made me very angry. I grabbed her throat, squeezing tightly. "Never speak to your Alpha like that! It's only over when I say it's over, got it!?"

"Roar!"

Sunna roared in anger and transformed into a wolf, breaking free from my grasp. "Simon, you may be the Alpha, but I am no longer your Luna, nor a member of your Sky Pack!"

I was stunned. This woman, who had always been gentle as a little dog in front of me, when did she become so wild?

Realizing this, my anger surged up and my wolf was restless, eager to come out and teach this woman a lesson.

"It seems Caroline was right. I have been too good to you, to the point where you dare to defy me now!"

Just as I was about to act, the phone rang, with Caroline's special ringtone that I had set.

I took a deep breath, temporarily suppressing my anger, and said to Sunna, "I have something to attend to. You calm down and reflect on yourself. You better know that my coming to talk to you is an act of kindness. If I truly banish you from the Pack, you will live a miserable life."

With that, I turned and left. But as I was about to exit the room, I heard Sunna's cold voice from behind, "Simon, we're done. Who will truly live a miserable life after the separation, only time will tell. And I, am not afraid!"

Sunna's POV

Not long after Simon left, Hoyle and Elis entered my room.

"Sunna, since Simon has decided to reject you and you have no objections, go ahead and press your blood handprint here to sever the Mate bond."

Elis handed me a document, "This contract to dissolve the Mate relationship is signed. We can now contact the High Priest of the Priestess Group to conduct the ritual."

In a condescending tone, Hoyle said insincerely, "We, the Sky Pack, value loyalty. In consideration of the fact that you were once part of the family, we will give you ten million. You can live comfortably for the rest of your life, on the condition that you never harass Simon again!"

Ten million?

I felt disdainful. The main asset of the Sky Pack, Sky Group, with a market value of billions today, owes much of it to me!

But I didn't care. I cared even less about Elis's little scheme to save face by saying it was Simon's decision to reject me. I just wanted to leave as soon as possible and never see this family again.

Without any hesitation, I pressed my blood handprint.

"Great! Finally rid of this parasite! Once we get Simon to press his handprint too, the Sky Pack will have a new Luna!"

Elis looked pleased and quickly put away the contract.

From her words, it was clear that Simon was unaware of this.

Hoyle was overjoyed and immediately went back on her word: "I've thought about it, and for a parasite like you, giving you ten million is still too much. We'll only give you one million, no, a hundred thousand. That's all you're worth!"

With a sly smile, she said to me, "It's too late for you to back out now. You've already signed the contract!"

By this time, I had packed up all my things. I dragged them along, holding my parents' ashes, and said to Hoyle, "I won't back out. I don't need a single cent of the money. Just make sure Simon cooperates to handle this matter quickly. But I have to warn you, if you regret it one day, don't come begging to me, because I won't have any mercy!"

With that, I left the place where I had lived for so long without any nostalgia.

Outside, the sun was shining, the air was fresh, and the world seemed more beautiful than ever.

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Sunna's POV

I put my few belongings in the car and drove to Hunterston Hall of Heroes.

I decided to temporarily store my parents' ashes here, and when Simon and I completely broke up, I would bring them back to our hometown for burial.

From a distance, I saw many people gathered in front of the Hall of Heroes, with many enforcers from the Order Committee forming a circle around the hall, keeping unrelated people out.

Only some high-end cars were allowed in after showing something, and from those cars came out dignified individuals, clearly noble werewolves, walking into the Hall of Heroes.

"Why are there so many cars? So many important figures. Did someone extraordinary pass away?"

"Haven't you seen the news? It's Alpha Marcus-Chris of the Blood Moon Pack who passed away. They are going to hold a memorial ceremony later!"

"Oh my god! The Blood Moon Pack is a powerful pack second only to the royal family! Who will take over the leadership of the Blood Moon Pack now that Alpha Marcus is gone?"

"Other than that lunatic Soren-Chris, who else could it be?"

"Watch your mouth! If he hears you, you're dead!"

As I got out of the car and approached, I heard many people discussing, and finally understood what was going on.

A black-robed enforcer noticed me trying to squeeze in and stopped me with a hand: "Only those with an invitation to the ceremony can enter, others are not allowed in!"

I said to him, "I just want to store my parents' ashes."

He glanced at the urn in my hand, saw the flag on top, looked hesitant, but ultimately shook his head, "I'm sorry, you'll have to wait until the ceremony is over."

At that moment, a black car stopped beside me, the back window rolled down, and a voice came from inside the car, "With the flag on top, that must be a warrior who sacrificed for the country. Let her in."

The voice was calm, yet filled with undeniable authority and dominance. When it sounded, the noisy crowd seemed to freeze - it was absolute awe.

My wolf Diana immediately sent me a dangerous warning, proving that the person was an extremely dangerous presence.

I looked at the owner of that voice: dressed in all black, with a strong and angular face, and a pair of sharp eyes like a hawk.

These are a pair of beautiful yet aggressive eyes, the kind of calm aggression that suggests their owner naturally reigns supreme over everything.

I quickly recognized the "madman" that everyone around me had been talking about: Soren-Chris.

I had heard some ridiculous things about this young top noble, so I was just as surprised as everyone else by the kindness he showed.

"Thank you."

I thanked him and expressed my condolences for his loss, then entered the Hall of Heroes.

Guided by the staff, I found a quiet spot to store my parents' ashes.

"Mom, Dad, please wait a little longer. I will soon take you back to our hometown. Then, I will find my brother and pay our respects together."

I gently touched the urn, whispering to my parents.

Yes, I have a brother, a warrior who disappeared five years ago during a mission on the border and has been missing ever since.

Over the years, I have tried to find out about him through various channels, but to no avail. After burying my parents, I plan to head to the border to search for my brother.

He is the only family I have left in this world.

Since I didn't have a place to stay temporarily, I contacted my best friend Layla.

Upon hearing about my situation, this young lady from the noble Beta family was furious: "After treating you like that, they actually tried to force you to leave using your parents' ashes? And Simon insisted on doing such a ridiculous thing!? This family is simply pure animals!"

Compared to Simon's family, Layla was more aware of my role in the Sky Pack and Sky Group: "That nonsense Sky Pack Alpha, now he's all high and mighty. But once you really leave, he'll realize he's nothing without you! Damn it! Simon and that bitch Caroline, they will end up in a miserable state sooner or later!"

After cursing for a while, she hugged me tightly: "I'm sorry about your parents, but don't be too sad. I think they would want you to be happy. Let's go, being single again is a good thing. We should celebrate. I'll cover all the expenses today!"

Layla is truly a great friend—especially compared to Simon's family. Throughout the day, she took me to all the high-end stores, splurged on buying me lots of clothes and accessories, and then took me to a fancy restaurant for dinner.

We had just sat down when we heard laughter from the table behind us, and my name was mentioned.

"Alpha Simon, shouldn't you break up with that Sunna? How can someone like her have the audacity to occupy the Luna position in the Sky Pack?"

"Yeah, if it weren't for you giving her a bite to eat, she would have starved long ago. Only someone like Caroline, born noble and incredibly talented as a werewolf, deserves the Luna position in the Sky Pack. What qualifications does Sunna have to compare with Caroline?"

"We're all waiting for Alpha Simon to unite with his true soulmate and invite us to the wedding, haha!"

The tables in this restaurant were well spaced apart, and Layla and I were sitting with our backs to that side, so the people at the table behind us didn't notice us.

Of course, even if they had noticed, I think they would have said the same thing, because I recognized one of the voices as belonging to Charlie, a friend whom Simon trusted a lot - Charlie never respected me.

Layla had a hot temper, and upon hearing those words, she was so angry that she gritted her teeth and slammed the table, ready to confront them.

Diana was also restless inside me, saying, "It's time to teach these despicable guys a lesson!"

I stopped Layla, saying, "They're talking about me, I'll handle it myself!"

With that, I stood up, took my glass, and walked over to Simon's table: "You just mentioned wanting to toast to Simon and Caroline's wedding. No need to wait, I'll treat you all now. Cheers!"

As soon as I said that, the lively atmosphere instantly fell silent.
