Sihana has packed her belongings. She has saved enough money to leave. In Healing the Ruthless Alpha, turning twenty-one should finally let her walk away from Silver Moon. The problem is that Kade, the man about to become Alpha, has already decided she belongs to him.
The first five chapters follow that escape plan as it falls apart, then introduce Cahir from his own point of view. They make an uncomfortable question worth following: what happens when someone who has rejected you still controls whether you can leave?

Twenty-one is a deadline, not just a birthday
Sihana explains the pack's rules in chapter 1. Wolves become adults at eighteen, but they cannot legally live alone until twenty-one. She fears that leaving too early could turn her feral. Waiting has therefore been a practical survival decision, however unbearable life inside Silver Moon becomes.
Her birthday coincides with Kade's succession. That gives the opening two competing deadlines: she is about to gain the right to leave, while he is about to gain more authority over her. Her packed bags and savings make the danger immediate. She has already prepared an alternative life; Kade only has to stop her reaching it.
Chapter 2 also clarifies their earlier rejection. At eighteen, Sihana accepted the broken mate bond with some relief because she did not want a future with her childhood bully. The narration leaves room for pain, but it does not make winning him back her goal. Her current plan is to get away.
What Rena's death reveals about Silver Moon
Rena is the ordinary black wolf Sihana has befriended, distinct from Asena, Sihana's own shifter wolf. In chapter 1, Felicity slaps Sihana and later bumps into her. Rena attacks Felicity in response. Sihana repeatedly tries to stop the fight because she knows who will be punished.
Felicity tells Kade that Sihana set Rena on her. Kade dismisses Sihana's explanation and orders Rena killed. He then uses an Alpha command to stop Sihana following the men who take her friend away. The scene shows how little access Sihana has to a fair hearing: Felicity's account is accepted, and Sihana cannot even move freely while the punishment is carried out.
Maria's response is quieter but important. She tells Sihana to mourn later and return to preparing the succession celebration. The pack needs clean rooms and a successful party. Sihana's grief must fit around that work. Even the person she hoped would show sympathy helps keep her in place.
A rejected bond does not end Kade's control
Kade comes to Sihana's room after midnight and questions the packed bags. He has rejected her as a mate, yet he insists that becoming her Alpha will allow him to prevent her departure. His power over her continues through the pack hierarchy. (Chapter 2)
The same chapter depicts unwanted sexual contact and Sihana's explicit refusal. Kade treats his own desire as though it must be mutual. Sihana says it is not. That distinction matters when deciding whether this opening suits you: the scene presents coercion through her frightened, resistant point of view, not a consensual reunion.
After he leaves, she discovers that her savings are gone and concludes that Kade took them. The chapter does not show the theft itself. What it does show is her revised decision: leave without the money, cross no man's land toward Blue Blood territory, and try to reach human territory from there. She gives up the safer version of her plan because waiting now feels more dangerous. (Chapter 3)
Her first healing happens while she is trying to escape
On the way out, Sihana and Asena hear an injured ordinary wolf. Asena knows it is not Rena. They stop anyway, and Sihana tries to control the bleeding with what she has. The healing light appears during that attempt to save it. She discovers her ability through an action she chooses, before she understands what the power means. (Chapter 3)
There is a painful connection to the previous loss. She could not save Rena, and now she cannot make herself abandon another injured wolf. Helping costs time during an escape in which every minute matters. Once the wolf is resting and she believes it will survive, she tries to leave again. Armed men stop her.
Chapter 4 follows her return to the pack and confinement in the dungeon. Both her father and Kade punish her for attempting to exercise the right she has waited for. The healing discovery has changed what she knows about herself; it has not yet given her a route to safety. That gap keeps the new power from becoming an instant solution to her situation.
Cahir arrives for an alliance, before he finds a mate
Chapter 5 switches to Cahir. His Beta, Aristo, presses him to attend Silver Moon's succession ceremony because Cahir's isolation and frightening reputation are hurting relations with other packs. Cahir agrees after considering the value of an alliance. He has explicitly said he does not need a mate.
His arrival links the political visit to Sihana's story. A scent draws him into the kitchen, where he recognizes his mate just as a red-haired girl pours boiling water on her. The chapter ends with his threatening response. It is an abrupt collision between his planned visit and a bond he had dismissed.
At this point, his anger is visible; the quality of a future relationship is still an open question. He also describes fear as a useful way to rule. Readers interested in the title's promise of healing have something specific to watch for as they continue: whether his treatment of Sihana gives her room to make choices after Silver Moon has repeatedly taken that freedom away.
Deciding whether to keep reading
The opening spends substantial time on Sihana's attempts to leave, the people obstructing her, and the discovery of her healing ability. Readers looking for an escape story with a second-mate setup have clear reasons to continue. Readers wanting a gentle opening or an established, trusting couple will find a much harsher starting point here.
